About The Position

Express Scripts Pharmacy is a division of Evernorth Health Services, a part of The Cigna Group, and is looking for an experienced Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technician to work onsite at our Tempe Fulfillment Center. They also welcome Arizona Licensed Pharmacy Technician Trainees. This position combines communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a drive to help patients. The role expands pharmacy knowledge beyond a retail environment, offering a set schedule and the satisfaction of helping others. The Pharmacy Technician will prepare prescriptions on a large scale while working closely with a team of Pharmacists. The role offers a supportive environment with peers and other teams.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Arizona (AZ) Pharmacy Technician license; will accept AZ Pharmacy Trainee license.
  • Basic math skills.
  • General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, use of the internet and email is required.
  • Very detailed oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate heavy work volumes.
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Must be able to reach upwards above the head repeatedly.
  • Must be able to open manufacturer bottles.
  • Must be able to use a bottle chopper repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to go up and down stairs repeatedly during a shift.
  • Must be able to kneel and bend down to check underneath tables / HVF filler for stray tablets.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within dispensing pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Select and retrieve appropriate quantities of medication and prepare the corresponding labels.
  • Work with a skilled team in a temperature-controlled facility to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and responsibly operate production equipment, including changing prescription labels, cleaning printers, monitoring production equipment, repacking and restocking medications/materials, and preparation of drugs for dispensing.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and production clerks to ensure medications are adequately filled and packed.
  • Clean and help maintain equipment and work area.
  • Perform assigned additional tasks as required.
