About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team by helping promptly, safely, and accurately fill patient prescriptions while providing caring service to patients and customers. They help ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met, follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, maintain ethical conduct, and protect patient confidentiality. The role is suited to people who can work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate compassionate, genuine care. New Pharmacy Technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet all applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by the manager until those requirements are completed. Technicians can then continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. The role requires being at least 16 years old; licensure requirements vary by state. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Meet state-specific pharmacy technician licensure requirements.
Concentrate on tasks over time without being distracted.
Demonstrate customer service orientation, including responding appropriately to customers.
Use verbal and written communication effectively with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
Use mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription's days' supply.
Recognize problems and choose an appropriate course of action when faced with complex situations.
Meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, fine finger movements, reaching, bending, stooping, and communicating orally.
Have close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts.
Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount constantly.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
PTCB National Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
