About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and tracking medication inventory, supporting facility operations with reporting and paperwork, promoting the pharmacy's reputation, and ensuring the fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist in an automated central fill pharmacy. The role involves using technology to manage inventory, ensure accuracy, and maintain a safe and clean work environment, all while adhering to company policies and values.

  • Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and tracks medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight in appropriate locations, restocking and replenishing medication, reporting low stock levels, ensuring stock rotation on a first-in, first-out basis, performing inventory cycle counts, assisting with physical counts, creating reports using inventory information systems, and monitoring prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.
  • Supports facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data, processing and submitting paperwork, creating and maintaining documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and preparing reports of pharmacy activities and inventory.
  • Promotes the pharmacy's professional reputation and delivers pharmacy products and services in accordance with laws and policies by assisting the pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, stocking and rotating merchandise, handling claims and returns, completing and securing paperwork, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensures fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist in an automated central fill pharmacy to maintain workflow and meet production and quality goals by using a scanner to identify and select pharmaceutical product, verifying product details, entering expiration dates and lot numbers, labeling prescriptions, weighing medication, counting or pouring medication, and preparing packages for distribution.
  • Maintains quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by utilizing automated inventory control systems to track and ensure timely delivery and stocking, adhering to inventory control procedures, auditing and testing pill cell performance, managing pill cell information, troubleshooting issues, identifying and discarding hazardous waste, and processing recalled and expired pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains pharmacy systems and technology by preparing informational records and reports, monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates, calibrating machines, applying settings to pill or capsule specifications, ensuring medications are replenished, and troubleshooting pill cell issues.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and applying them in executing business processes and practices.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with others, identifying priorities and deadlines, communicating progress, determining and recommending improvements, and adapting to change, difficulties, and feedback.
