This is a great opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to work within the Community Health Network Pharmacy, a clinic-based pharmacy in Long Island City, NY. Community Healthcare Network’s (CHN) mission is to provide access to quality, culturally-competent and comprehensive community-based primary care, mental health, pharmacy and social services for diverse populations in underserved communities throughout New York City. The estimated compensation range for this position is $22-27/ hr depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Current PTCB Certification is preferred
  • 2+ years retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to multi task and work independently
  • Computer experience mandatory
  • Proven track record of exemplary customer service
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Start Up pharmacy experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and reorders.
  • Verifying/re-verifying insurance benefits.
  • Translating and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system.
  • Communicating and collecting copay amounts.
  • Handling prior authorizations/reauthorizations.
  • Screening, identifying, resolving or deferring orders.
  • Greeting customers and take prescription orders.
  • Operate the cash register by ringing up sales for customers.
  • Assist in keeping the pharmacy clean and the shelves stocked.
  • Answer the phone.
  • Input customer information into the computer system.
