Pharmacy Technician

CVS Health•Highland Park, IL
•Onsite

About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence in a retail store. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and patients receive caring service. Technicians follow company Standard Operating Procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, applicable laws and professional standards, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. They must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; until those requirements are completed, the Pharmacy Manager may restrict their duties. Where permitted and with the required training and certification, Technicians may also provide additional patient health services, including immunization support, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics. Technician Immunizers may prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and monitor vaccine supplies.
