About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions while providing caring service to patients and customers. They help ensure medication needs are met and regulatory standards are followed, maintaining ethical conduct and patient confidentiality in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. New technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by a manager until these requirements are satisfied. The role offers opportunities to develop clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet licensure requirements applicable in the state of employment.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over time without distraction.
• Customer service orientation, including proactively helping people and responding appropriately to their reactions.
• Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
• Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing issues and selecting an appropriate course of action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support prompt, safe, and accurate prescription filling.
• Provide caring service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• Help ensure patients’ medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met.
• Maintain ethical conduct and patient confidentiality.
• Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy applicable state requirements before undertaking the full scope of technician duties.
