About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering caring service. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow procedures, best practices, and applicable laws and professional standards, and contribute to a safe, inclusive team culture. Technicians must complete the company training program and satisfy registration, licensing, and certification requirements applicable under their state’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Until requirements are met, the Pharmacy Manager may restrict their duties. Where permitted by law and supported by required training and certification, Technicians may provide additional patient health services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, and may staff offsite clinics. Technician immunizers complete additional requirements, educate patients about vaccines, refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, monitor and report adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
