About The Position

Accurately and timely prepares and dispenses medications, including IV medications, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with policy and regulation. Compounds IV medications in a cleanroom environment according to USP 797 standards. Maintains patient medication profiles and ensures medications are properly charged and delivered. The role also supports medication and supply operations by restocking automated dispensing devices and carousels, filling floor-stock requisitions, inspecting for expired medications, handling wholesaler orders, maintaining storage areas, and using hospital information systems.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current New Jersey registration or eligibility to register upon hire. Must register with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment and become an active registered Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire.
Completion of basic pharmaceutical calculations.

Responsibilities

Functionally use hospital information systems.
