About The Position

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician at Omnicell, you will help support community well-being and serve as a trusted advisor to patients as part of an organization focused on innovation in medication management. You will assist the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, provide personalized patient service, learn about specialty diseases, and accurately enter patient, medication, billing, and sales information. The role is based at 3221 General DeGaulle Dr., New Orleans, Louisiana. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The schedule is Monday through Friday with one rotating Saturday per month; most weekends are off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active, non-expired license or registration from the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy technician duties.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Nice To Haves

• Active nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT); PTCB or NHA certification accepted.
• Two to three years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Working knowledge of specialty pharmacy.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Help the pharmacist prepare and dispense medications so patients receive the correct medication and dosage.
• Provide exceptional, personalized customer service in person and by phone, using active listening and helping patients navigate stressful situations.
• Learn about specialty diseases, including autoimmune diseases, oncology, Hepatitis C, and HIV, to better serve patients.
• Accurately and efficiently enter patient, medication, billing, and sales data into systems.
• Support and help improve the pharmacy and team while learning and developing with colleagues.
