About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician works in a training capacity alongside a trainer or mentor while performing responsibilities in the assigned pharmacy practice area. The role assists pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and the care team with the storage, distribution, preparation, and handling of medications within MaineHealth. The technician may perform only competencies completed through knowledge-based courses and on-the-job training, and only those they are qualified to perform alongside a technician trainer, mentor, or pharmacist.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current or eligibility for applicable state pharmacy technician license(s).
- Proficient computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and the care team in the storage, distribution, preparation, and handling of medications.
- Complete job responsibilities in the assigned pharmacy practice area while working alongside a trainer or mentor.
- Perform only competencies completed through knowledge-based courses and on-the-job training, and for which the technician is qualified.
