About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician performs pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist and may also perform administrative functions for the Retail Pharmacy. The role assists the Retail Pharmacy Pharmacist with clerical work, recordkeeping, order entry, and medication dispensing. Scheduled hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Weekly hours are listed as TBD.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State of Louisiana Pharmacy Technician License, State of Louisiana Pharmacy Intern License, or State of Louisiana Pharmacy Technician Candidate License with successful completion of the PTCB examination.
• Good physical health.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with a moderate level of noise.

Responsibilities

• Perform pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
• Assist the Retail Pharmacy Pharmacist with clerical tasks, recordkeeping, order entry, and medication dispensing.
• May perform administrative functions of the Retail Pharmacy.
• Obtain at least 10 ACPE-approved education hours per year.
