About The Position

Serve as a fully integrated member of the Pharmacy Department assist the pharmacists by performing technical tasks under their direct supervision for all pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and assuring that the pharmacists have the medication and supplies necessary for executing professional responsibilities. Prepare sterile, parenteral products using aseptic techniques as per department guidelines. Perform drug distribution process without error (e.g., patient bin distribution, IVPB, LVP distribution to medication rooms and refrigerators, restocking Omnicell cabinets, managing returns) Rotate different pharmacies, including but not limited to: UCC, PEDS, ICU, M18, AB07, & Robot

Requirements

  • Valid NY Pharmacy Technician License
  • CPhT certification
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems.
  • Highly motivated and able to work well with others in a demanding environment.
  • Able to adopt a culture centered around patient safety and cleanroom sterility.
  • Able to suggest changes to workflow to improve patient care.
  • Someone with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn in an empowering environment.
  • Someone with a substantial understanding of computer and pharmacy systems.
  • Someone with a supportive attitude toward others’ beliefs and ideas.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
