About The Position

Cardinal Health Innovative Delivery Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for their Sonoma Valley Community Health Center location. With over 45 years of experience, Cardinal Health provides expertise in hospital and outpatient pharmacies, focusing on cost control, workflow improvement, and safety. This PRN position will cover Paid Time Off (PTO) and as-needed coverage, with the possibility of floating to other locations in the area to pick up hours. The role involves working in a company-owned retail contract pharmacy within a Community Health Center program, which is designed to address population health management needs and improve patient access and quality of care. The technician will play a crucial role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to communities in need, building relationships with patients, and assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Registration in state in which the position is located (if applicable)
  • 1-2 years with retail pharmacy technician related experience, preferred
  • 340B experience preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish, highly preferred
  • May require vendor credentialing

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
  • Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change.
  • Be available to the customer/patients at all times.
  • Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities.
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B.
