About The Position
At Wegmans, pharmacy technicians build trust by providing best-in-class service and helping ensure customers receive the medical attention, care, and health services they depend on. The role is based in a fast-paced pharmacy with a compassionate team working toward a shared mission. Technicians prepare and dispense medications safely and compliantly, support customers with insurance claim issues, and handle prescription information and medications in accordance with applicable standards and company policies.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Proficient computer and data entry skills.
- Basic math skills, including unit conversions, to perform dosage calculations and determine day supply accurately and ensure patient safety.
- Problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide incredible customer service by demonstrating patience, empathy, and care in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform accurate dosage calculations and conversions using basic math while following regulatory standards and company policies for safe, compliant medication preparation and dispensing.
- Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to support customers’ needs.
- Accurately and efficiently input prescription information.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Properly handle medications and follow department policies and procedures.
