About The Position

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a full-time IV Room Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, California. The pharmacy sterile compounding technician is cross-trained to work in multiple locations, including the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic (AIC), and outpatient cancer centers. Duties are performed independently under the supervision of a pharmacist. The technician must be able to rotate between day and evening shifts, work alternate weekends, and rotate through areas requiring pharmacy technician coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to perform calculations involving ratios, proportions, and percentages.
• Adequate computer skills to complete assigned projects and tasks.
• Ability to operate the equipment required for the assignment; specialized-area assignments require proficiency with relevant specialized equipment.
• Ability to rotate shifts, including days and evenings, and work alternate weekends.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach; occasionally sit, push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds for distances up to 10 feet.
• Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices, including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
• Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
• Ability to read information on medication labels.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned pharmacy technician duties independently under pharmacist supervision.
• Work in sterile compounding locations including the medical center IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic, and outpatient cancer centers.
• Rotate through areas requiring pharmacy technician coverage.
