About The Position

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is hiring a full-time IV Room Pharmacy Technician. The pharmacy sterile compounding technician is cross-trained to work in various locations, including the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic (AIC), and outpatient cancer centers. Duties are performed independently under the supervision of a pharmacist. The technician must be able to rotate between day and evening shifts, work alternate weekends, and rotate throughout areas requiring a Pharmacy Technician.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to perform calculations involving ratios, proportions, and percentages.
• Adequate computer skills to complete assigned projects and tasks.
• Ability to use a calculator, computer printer, PC, medication carts, and automated dispensing machines.
• Ability to operate specialized equipment when assigned to specialized areas.
• Ability to rotate shifts, work alternate weekends, and rotate among areas requiring a Pharmacy Technician.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; occasional sitting, pushing, and pulling; and lifting materials up to 40 pounds for distances up to 10 feet.
• Ability to respond to auditory alarms and communication devices, including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
• Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
• Ability to read information on medication labels.

Responsibilities

• Perform pharmacy sterile compounding technician duties in assigned locations, including the medical center IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic, and outpatient cancer centers.
• Perform duties independently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Rotate throughout areas requiring a Pharmacy Technician and between day and evening shifts.
• Work alternate weekends.
