About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician works in the Retail Pharmacy team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England. The position follows prescribed procedures and assists with processing physician prescriptions so medications are filled promptly, accurately, and safely. The technician prepares medications under a supervising pharmacist, helps answer patient questions, provides service, and maintains records related to drug use and charges. This is a part-time, per-diem role as needed during the pharmacy’s weekday and weekend operating hours.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Connecticut state registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
- National PTCB certification as a Pharmacy Technician within one year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient service to patients and customers in person and by telephone.
- Use the pharmacy computer system to input, retrieve, and analyze data.
- Prepare prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepare and prioritize prescriptions according to need.
- Handle cash properly, maintain cash control, and complete daily retail transactions in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Track inventory and assist with daily ordering.
- Assist with patient questions and service.
- Maintain records related to drug use and charges.
