About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions while providing caring service to patients and customers. The role helps ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met, maintains patient confidentiality, and requires ethical conduct and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Technicians manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. New technicians must complete CVS Pharmacy Technician Training and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; duties may be restricted by a manager until those requirements are met. The role offers opportunities to develop clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. Licensure requirements vary by state. In some markets, collective bargaining agreement rules may apply. Depending on role and location, COVID-19 vaccination may be required where permitted by law, subject to reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet state-specific licensure requirements, which vary by state.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over time without being distracted.
• Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner, understanding customer reactions, and responding appropriately.
• Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues; active listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning, including the ability to calculate a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing problems and selecting an appropriate course of action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities
