Position Summary Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist or the Director of Pharmacy Affairs. As a Pharmacy Technician at TFHC, you’ll work alongside experienced pharmacists and care teams who value accuracy, teamwork, and service. This role includes assisting with prescription dispensing, inventory management, insurance verification, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification from an approved technical school or a minimum of six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
• Ability to complete required 340B University training within the first two weeks of employment and maintain annual renewals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health records
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform basic pharmacy math

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy SOPs
• Identify medications from stock, count correct quantities, and prepare prescription labels
• Verify patient eligibility with insurance plans and third-party payers and calculate costs as needed
• Answer incoming calls and respond to routine questions, escalating complex inquiries to the pharmacist
• Assist with patient education materials under pharmacist supervision
• Support refill authorization requests and communication with providers and care team members
• Maintain accurate records and assist with quality control and quality assurance activities
• Manage daily pharmacy operations, including inventory, supplies, and cash handling
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, and all state and federal requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
• Promote positive relationships with patients, visitors, and the community
