About The Position

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. This role involves completing a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, ensuring the daily operations of the pharmacy align with established policies and guidelines. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, you will be able to work independently and will not provide direct patient care.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• State registration or eligibility of required
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician required by the State

Nice To Haves

• One to two year's experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule; Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's).

Responsibilities

• Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
• Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing, and filling out all necessary paperwork.
• Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
