About The Position

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052. This Per Diem (PRN) position has a schedule of 5PM-10PM on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, offering $26.00/Hour plus a Shift Differential. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • State registration or eligibility of required
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician required by the State

Nice To Haves

  • One to two year's experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Per Diem Requirement: Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule; Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's).

Responsibilities

  • Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, including being responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy within the established policies and guidelines.
  • Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, and are able to work independently.
  • Not provide direct care to patients.
  • Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
  • Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
  • Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing, and filling out all necessary paperwork.
  • Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
  • Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
