About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence in retail stores. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow practices, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safe, inclusive team culture. After starting, technicians must complete the company training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until these requirements are complete. Where permitted by law and supported by required training and certification, technicians may also provide additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics. Technician immunizers may complete additional licensure and training, educate patients about vaccines, refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
