About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians help patients and customers with their medication needs while supporting safe, prompt, and accurate prescription fulfillment. They work in a retail pharmacy environment, maintain patient confidentiality, follow ethical and professional standards, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The role involves managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks and providing caring service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

New Pharmacy Technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by a manager until those requirements are met. Afterward, technicians can continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. Duties and requirements may vary by state and location; in select markets, collective bargaining agreement rules may apply.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Licensure requirements vary by state; applicable registration, licensing, and certification requirements must be satisfied.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over time without being distracted.
• Customer-service orientation, including looking for ways to help people, responding in a friendly manner, and responding appropriately to customer reactions.
• Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues; active listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing actual or potential problems and choosing an appropriate course of action.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described in the posting, including standing and moving for sustained periods, fine finger use, reaching, bending and stooping, oral communication and hearing, close visual acuity, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
