About The Position

The per diem Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of licensed Pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the Pharmacy Department. The role assists with the distribution, dispensing, and compounding of non-sterile medications and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. Duties also include sterile compounding, including limited hazardous medications, in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The position requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, teamwork with minimal supervision, and the ability to respond positively in a stressful environment and meet the department’s physical demands. Experience is preferred but not required. The role is based in Miramar, Florida, and the listed shift is nights.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) license in the State of Florida.
• Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work well with others in a team with minimal supervision.
• Ability to respond positively in a stressful environment and meet the physical demands of the department.
• Ability to perform activities within the Pharmacy Technician scope of practice.

Nice To Haves

• Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement of medications and supplies through various ordering platforms.
• Perform sterile compounding, including limited hazardous medications, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician as described in the job posting.
• Assist with process improvement and continuous quality and safety monitoring initiatives.
• Perform activities within the Pharmacy Technician scope of practice.
• Provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the Pharmacy Department under the direct supervision of licensed Pharmacists.
• Assist with distribution, dispensing, and compounding of medications and related supplies in compliance with applicable requirements.
