About The Position

Hunter's Precision Pharmacy is an independently owned, closed-door pharmacy specializing in mental health services. Established in 2004, we provide prescription services and pharmacy support to Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health Treatment Services, Mental Health Residential Care Facilities, and other healthcare organizations throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. Our pharmacy is different from a traditional retail pharmacy. We work closely with patients, healthcare providers, facilities, and clinical teams to provide dependable medication services in a specialized clinical environment. We are a service provider, and exceptional customer service is an essential part of everything we do. Hunter's Precision Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Altus, Oklahoma. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to use their pharmacy knowledge and experience in a clinical, patient-focused environment. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medication orders, maintaining accurate patient information, communicating with patients and healthcare professionals, and providing exceptional customer service. An important part of this position will also be patient engagement and pharmacy service promotion. The technician will introduce new patients and clients to the pharmacy's available services, educate them about appropriate pharmacy programs and offerings, and help connect them with services that may benefit their pharmacy-care needs. The goal is to ensure that every new patient understands the services available to them while helping build long-term relationships with Hunter's Precision Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and must perform all duties in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician Permit preferred and must meet applicable Oklahoma requirements.
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician or pharmacy data-entry experience preferred.
Retail, long-term care, closed-door, specialty, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
Experience with pharmacy computer software.
Must complete required Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy technician training and requirements.
Must complete all required company and job-related training.
Must comply with all applicable state and federal laws governing pharmacy operations, prescription processing, labeling, and dispensing.
Must understand and follow HIPAA regulations.
Must successfully complete required pre-employment background and driving-record checks.
Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening.
Must be willing and able to travel when required.
Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work the agreed-upon schedule.

Responsibilities

Enter medication orders promptly and accurately into the company's pharmacy software system.
Verify that prescription and medication-order information is complete and accurate according to applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures.
Update patient profiles with required demographic, allergy, medication, therapy, and other relevant information.
Process prescription information accurately and efficiently to meet daily production and delivery deadlines.
Communicate with pharmacists, patients, facilities, clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals regarding prescription and medication-order issues.
Notify appropriate personnel of inventory shortages, special orders, recalls, missing information, or other issues that may affect medication processing or delivery.
Assist with locating lost, delayed, or missed orders.
Answer inbound calls from patients, facilities, clinics, and other customers.
Manage prescription signature logs and other required documentation.
Receive and store incoming prescriptions and pharmacy-related materials.
Verify quantities against manifests and assist with inventory control.
Monitor inventory for outdated or expired medications and follow company procedures for appropriate handling.
Handle cash and credit-card transactions when applicable and accurately document sales information.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate customer service to patients, facilities, clinic staff, and healthcare providers.
Build positive relationships with patients and clients that encourage trust, loyalty, and continued use of Hunter's Precision Pharmacy.
Respond promptly to customer questions and concerns and refer clinical or medication-related questions to the pharmacist when appropriate.
Identify patient service concerns and work with the pharmacy team to resolve them.
Maintain a patient-focused attitude while working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Introduce all new patients and clients to Hunter's Precision Pharmacy and the services available to them.
Explain pharmacy services, programs, delivery options, and other applicable offerings in a clear and patient-friendly manner.
Identify opportunities where patients may benefit from additional pharmacy services and communicate those opportunities to the pharmacist or appropriate team member.
Assist patients with pharmacy-service enrollment and onboarding as directed and permitted by applicable law and company policy.
Follow up with new patients as appropriate to ensure they understand how to access and utilize pharmacy services.
Build strong relationships with new patients and facility/clinic contacts to encourage long-term use of Hunter's Precision Pharmacy.
Support pharmacy initiatives designed to increase patient engagement, retention, referrals, and awareness of available pharmacy services.
Participate in community outreach, facility visits, and other patient or client engagement activities as assigned.
Consistently represent Hunter's Precision Pharmacy in a professional and positive manner.
Work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and follow pharmacist direction.
Maintain compliance with applicable Oklahoma pharmacy regulations and federal laws.
Follow HIPAA and all company privacy and confidentiality policies.
Maintain required pharmacy technician credentials and complete required training.
Follow established procedures for prescription processing, documentation, medication handling, and patient communication.
Communicate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, patients, facilities, and healthcare providers.
Assist other members of the pharmacy team as needed to meet patient and operational needs.
