About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians help patients access and manage their medications while supporting safe, accurate, and timely prescription fulfillment. They provide caring service to patients and customers, maintain patient confidentiality, follow professional and ethical standards, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The role involves managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

New Pharmacy Technicians must complete CVS Pharmacy’s training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by the manager until those requirements are met. Technicians can continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. Duties and requirements may vary by location, and collective bargaining agreement rules may apply in select markets.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet applicable state licensure requirements; requirements vary by state.
• Ability to concentrate on a task over time without being distracted.
• Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customer reactions.
• Verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
• Active listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning, including calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing problems and choosing an appropriate course of action.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions.
• Help ensure patients’ medication needs are met and regulatory compliance standards are followed.
• Provide caring service to patients and customers and respond appropriately to their needs.
• Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct.
• Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements.
