About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and serve as an initial point of contact for patients and customers. Technicians follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflows while contributing to a caring, safe, and inclusive experience for patients and colleagues. After starting in the role, technicians must complete the company training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are met. Where permitted by law and supported by appropriate training and certification, technicians may also provide services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics. Technician immunizers must complete additional licensure and training requirements and may help prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, respond to adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
