We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our growing team by managing and completing medication prior authorizations for patients across multiple outpatient specialty practices. Enjoy a routine daytime schedule with no evenings, weekends or holidays and free parking on site. This position is located primarily at 1 Southpark Circle in Charleston (West Ashley), with training and occasional on-site work at MUSC Health East Cooper at 1600 Midtown Avenue in Mt. Pleasant. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
0 - 6 months of work experience
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained.
Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification.
New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.

New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

Supports the outpatient pharmacy operations by managing the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications, services, and procedures.
Ensures timely submission of accurate documentation to payers.
Monitors authorizations and denials.
Collaborates with clinical and provider teams.
Helps optimize reimbursement while safeguarding patient access to therapy.
