About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence in retail stores. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, helping ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, applicable laws and professional standards, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team environment. After starting in the role, Technicians must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Until those requirements are completed, the Pharmacy Manager may restrict duties. Where permitted and with required training and certification, Technicians may also support patient health services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics. Technician immunizers may complete additional licensure and training, educate patients about vaccines, refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, respond to and report adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
