About The Position

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician for its Specialty Pharmacy in Los Angeles, California. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician prepares, distributes, and controls sterile and non-sterile oral and injectable medications and participates in departmental programs. Duties are performed independently under the supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Specialty is open Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• Ability to perform calculations involving ratios, proportions, and percentages.
• Adequate computer skills to complete assigned projects and tasks.
• Ability to use a calculator, computer printer, PC, medication carts, and automated dispensing machines.
• Ability to read information on medication labels.
• Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
• Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices, including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; occasional sitting, pushing and pulling; and lifting materials up to 40 pounds for distances up to 10 feet.

Nice To Haves

• Specialty or retail experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating specialized equipment may be necessary for assignments in specialized areas such as OR/ER, Sterile Manufacturing, ACP, or the Storeroom.
