About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They are often a first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow practices, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team environment. After starting, Technicians must complete the company training program and meet applicable state Board of Pharmacy registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are met. Where allowed by law and supported by training and certification, Technicians may also provide additional patient health services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, or staff offsite clinics. Where permitted, a Technician may obtain Technician Immunizer status by completing required licensure and training. Immunizer duties include preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients and referring vaccine questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, monitoring and responding to adverse reactions, documenting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies.
