About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail stores. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, helping ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow practices, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safe, inclusive team culture. After beginning the role, they must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; duties may be restricted until those requirements are met. Technicians may also provide additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, or staff offsite clinics when permitted by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permitted, Technician Immunizers may prepare and administer vaccines after completing the required licensure and training, educate patients and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, respond to and report adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
