About The Position

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician at Omnicell, you will support medication management and patient care in a community pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, provide personalized service to patients, and help ensure accurate, safe, and compliant pharmacy operations. The role includes learning about specialty diseases and supporting patients through in-person and phone communication. The work environment is described as friendly and relaxed, with one-on-one patient care rather than a big-box retail atmosphere. The location is 3221 General DeGaulle Dr., New Orleans, LA 70114. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. The schedule is Monday through Friday with one rotating Saturday per month; most weekends are off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active, non-expired license or registration from the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy technician duties.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Nice To Haves

• Active nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential; PTCB or NHA accepted.
• Two to three years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Working knowledge of specialty pharmacy.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Help the pharmacist prepare and dispense medications, ensuring patients receive the correct medication and dosage.
• Provide exceptional, personalized customer service through in-person and phone communication, active listening, and calm guidance.
• Learn and demonstrate an understanding of specialty diseases, including autoimmune diseases, oncology, Hepatitis C, and HIV.
• Accurately and efficiently enter patient, medication, billing, and sales data into systems.
• Support and help improve the pharmacy and team.
