About The Position
Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations' functions related to: preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); and preparation of oncology drugs.
Requirements
- High school diploma OR G.E.D.
- One (1) to two (2) years supervised training or study required
- Courses in mathematics necessary
- Verbal ability to understand physician’s orders and terminology for transcribing information onto a patient’s profile, also for labeling IV solutions and prescriptions
- Adhere strictly to established practices
- PA pharmacy technician trainee registration
