About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist. This role involves refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, filling medication carts daily, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory for the pharmacy department. The technician will also repackage bulk medications. The position requires the ability to read and write basic English to transcribe physician's orders, listen, empathize, and respond to patient and partner needs, work under stressful situations, and possess knowledge of universal precaution and isolation standards, along with basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • Proof of current CPhT standing and Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Registration Required.
  • Successful completion of the National Certification Examination by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician (ICPT) required 6 months from date of hire/transfer.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Institutional pharmacy or medical experience Preferred

Responsibilities
