About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician, working under the Pharmacist's license, assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves performing routine pharmacy functions such as receiving prescriptions from patients and physicians, preparing prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing, and ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Nevada Board of Pharmacy. The technician will also maintain patient profiles and prepare insurance claim forms. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Graduation from Pharmacy Tech School or completion of the Pharmacy Tech in training certificate through the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Registered with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy.
  • Maintains required in-service training as required by the Nevada Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Knowledge of State of Nevada pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Computer skills and typing skills.
  • Ability to learn pharmacy software systems.
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of constituencies.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology and drug names.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA laws.
  • Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy.

  • Work within the regulations of the Nevada Board of Pharmacy.
