About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy teams in delivering operational and service excellence in retail locations. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, and applicable laws and policies, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and effective pharmacy team. After starting, technicians must complete the company training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; duties may be restricted until those requirements are met. Depending on state law and training, technicians may also support immunizations and other patient health care services, such as point-of-care testing and offsite clinics. Where permitted, immunization support can include vaccine preparation and administration, patient education and referral to the pharmacist, monitoring and responding to adverse reactions, documenting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies.
