Pharmacy Technician

CVS Health•Altamonte Springs, FL

About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy teams in retail locations by helping ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, providing caring service and contributing to a positive patient experience. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, applicable laws and ethical standards, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. They must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; until then, the Pharmacy Manager may restrict their duties. Depending on applicable law and completed training, technicians may also support immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics. Technician immunizer duties may include completing required training and licensure, preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients and referring vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, responding to and reporting adverse reactions, documenting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and flexibility to work at other stores in the market as business needs require. The anticipated schedule is 30 hours per week, and the position is designated full time.
