About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patient prescriptions while providing compassionate customer service. They help meet patients’ medication needs, follow regulatory requirements, maintain patient confidentiality, and work in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The role involves managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

New Pharmacy Technicians must complete CVS Pharmacy’s training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by the manager until those requirements are met. Technicians can then continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. The role may be subject to collective bargaining agreement rules in select markets. Depending on the role and location, COVID-19 vaccination may be required where permitted by law, subject to reasonable accommodation provisions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet applicable state licensure requirements; these vary by state.
• Concentrate on tasks over time without being distracted.
• Demonstrate customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customer reactions.
• Use verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues; listen actively and understand others’ points.
• Use mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
• Recognize problems and choose an appropriate course of action in complex situations.
• Meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for sustained periods, fine finger work, reaching, bending, stooping, speaking and hearing, and close visual acuity.
• Occasionally lift or exert up to 30 pounds; frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB National Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
