About The Position

CVS Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support patient care in a retail pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians help ensure medication needs are met and regulatory standards are followed while maintaining ethical conduct and patient confidentiality. The role involves managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks so the team can fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service to patients and customers. New Pharmacy Technicians must complete CVS Pharmacy’s training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by the manager until those requirements are met. Technicians can then continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. The position operates under applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. Vaccination requirements may apply depending on the role and location, subject to applicable law and approved accommodations.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Meet state-specific licensure requirements.
Ability to concentrate on tasks without being distracted.
Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customer reactions.
Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
Ability to recognize problems and choose an appropriate course of action in complex situations.
Physical ability to remain upright for sustained periods, move between work areas, use fingers for tasks such as typing, reach, bend, stoop, and communicate and hear spoken instructions.
Close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visual inspection of small parts.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
PTCB National Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support prompt, safe, and accurate prescription filling.
