About The Position
Mountains Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in providing safe, accurate, and efficient medication services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists with medication preparation, sterile compounding, inventory management, automated dispensing systems, and medication distribution while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Experience with sterile IV compounding, Pyxis, and unit-dose medication preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile IV compounds, under pharmacist supervision.
- Restock Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, crash carts, and medication inventory.
- Maintain compliance with USP <797> sterile compounding standards.
- Assist with outpatient prescription processing and medication packaging.
- Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, recalls, and temperature logs.
- Support pharmacy quality improvement, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
