About The Position

To assist the pharmacist in the preparation of IV admixtures and other drugs, place wholesaler orders for stock replacement, and fulfill other duties necessary for the management of the pharmacy under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist at either the LS or GS pharmacy as needed.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician License or Pharmacy Technician Trainee-License.
• Knowledge and ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of principles of drug distribution.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiarization with pharmacy stock and distribution procedures.
• Knowledge of drug nomenclature.
• Knowledge of dosage calculations.
• Knowledge of commonly used drugs names.
• Knowledge of uses of medications.
• Ability to read a prescription.
• Experience in IV admixture including use of syringes.

Nice To Haves

• Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred.
