About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care by philosophy and policy. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to enhance patients’ overall health. Responsibilities include retrieving medications, entering customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system, creating prescription labels, adjudicating insurance claims, completing prescription and drug-order paperwork, ordering and stocking prescription medications, promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizing workload, communicating effectively, maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protecting patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Input customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
