CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and assist patients as an initial point of contact. Technicians follow standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, applicable laws and professional standards, and CVS policies to support patient safety, privacy, and quality care. They demonstrate empathy and genuine care in interactions with patients and colleagues and contribute to a safe, inclusive team culture. After entering the role, Technicians must complete a company training program and meet the registration, licensing, and certification requirements established by their state Board of Pharmacy. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are met. Depending on state law and required training and certification, Technicians may also provide services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, or staff offsite clinics. Where permitted, Technician Immunizers may prepare and administer vaccines and support related patient education, documentation, adverse-reaction response, and vaccine-supply management. This is a full-time position with an anticipated 40-hour workweek. The typical pay range is $16.00–$24.00 per hour; actual pay depends on factors including experience, education, and geography. The position is eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, subject to eligibility.
