About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support the safe, prompt, and accurate filling of patient prescriptions while providing compassionate service to patients and customers. They manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks, meet medication needs and regulatory compliance standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow professional and ethical standards and applicable federal, state, and local laws. The position is suited to people who enjoy a fast-paced environment and providing genuine care. New technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted until those requirements are met. Technicians can continue to develop clinical, technical, and insurance expertise through available tools and training. In select markets, collective bargaining agreement rules may apply. Depending on role and location, COVID-19 vaccination may be required where allowable by law, subject to reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Licensure requirements vary by state.
Ability to concentrate on tasks over time without being distracted.
Customer service orientation, including identifying ways to help people, interacting in a friendly manner, and responding appropriately to customers’ reactions.
Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
Mathematical reasoning, including using math to calculate a prescription’s days’ supply.
Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing when something is wrong and choosing an appropriate course of action in complex situations.
Ability to meet the physical demands described in the job posting, including sustained standing, moving between work areas, fine finger work, reaching, bending and stooping, spoken communication, hearing, close visual acuity, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
PTCB National Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
