About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They assist patients and customers, help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and contribute to a caring, inclusive, and safe experience. Technicians follow company standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflows, best practices, applicable laws, and ethical standards, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. After starting, Technicians must complete the company training program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are met. Depending on applicable law, training, and certification, Technicians may support additional health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, and may voluntarily staff offsite clinics. Where permitted, Technician Immunizers complete additional training and licensure requirements, educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and flexibility to work in other stores in the market when needed.
