About The Position

Wegmans pharmacy technicians help build customer trust by providing attentive service and supporting customers’ medical care and health needs. Working in a fast-paced pharmacy, the technician accurately enters prescription information, performs dosage calculations and conversions, troubleshoots rejected insurance claims, maintains patient confidentiality, and handles medications in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role requires afternoon and evening availability, including weekends, with shifts ending as late as 9 p.m. The applicant must be at least 18 years old. State registration and/or national technician certification may be required depending on location; Wegmans may hire candidates before they obtain these qualifications and will support them through the process.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Proficient computer and data entry skills.
Basic math skills, including unit conversions, for dosage calculations and day-supply calculations.
Problem-solving skills.
Afternoon and evening availability, including weekends; shifts may end as late as 9 p.m.

Nice To Haves

National pharmacy technician certification and/or state registration may be required depending on location; candidates may be hired before obtaining these qualifications, and Wegmans will support them through the process.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to support customers’ needs.

Handle medications properly and follow department policies and procedures.
