About The Position

Provide exceptional customer service and support patients’ health and wellness by delivering services within the limits of applicable state and federal laws. The role supports pharmacy operations by assisting the pharmacist, accurately processing prescriptions and transactions, maintaining inventory and work areas, and providing a positive customer experience. The position requires compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, including HIPAA, safety, sanitation, cash handling, and inventory procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meet minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and report illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow company guidelines for computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
• Maintain departmental standards, including clean and organized workstations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
• Complete billing procedures to support appropriate value for customers and the company.
• Answer and triage phone calls and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
• Follow guidelines for accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink controls.
• Operate the cash register and follow cashier-handling policies for electronic fund transactions, credit and debit cards, EBT, gift cards, cash, and checks.
• Provide a strong customer experience while accurately completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Assist the pharmacist with responsibilities that do not require the pharmacist’s professional judgment.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding confidential information.
• Support company health and wellness initiatives.
• Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information; follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
