About The Position

Performs activities and responsibilities in the Pharmacy under direct Pharmacist Supervision. Duties exclude the direct processing and filling of prescriptions or duties restricted only to a pharmacist, pharmacist intern, or pharmacy technician.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED - Preferred
• Certified pharmacy technician within 6 months of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Preferred to have experience in healthcare

Responsibilities

• With supervision, learns how to refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• With supervision, learns how to fill medication carts on a daily basis.
• With supervision, learns how to prepare medication orders.
• With supervision, learns how to repackage bulk medications.
• With supervision, learns how to sort, stock and label medications.
• With supervision, learns how to monitor Pharmacy inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned or related.
• Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
