About The Position

Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior. Under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Student Intern executes the tasks of a pharmacy technician or technician specialist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. S/he performs a variety of duties and technical tasks structured to assist the pharmacist, patients, pharmacy technician specialist, and other healthcare providers as well as the entire medication distribution system for hospital patients.

Requirements

Basic computer/keyboard skills.
Good understanding of experience with medical terminology.
Able to participate in all aspects of drug distribution, communicate with other hospital employees, and prioritize work based on acuity/need.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school for doctor of pharmacy program.
Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Student Pharmacy intern through the MD State Board of Pharmacy required.

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
